jessica christoferson — proprietor

Jessica Christoferson Jessica first became interested in floral design while studying abroad and interning with one of London’s leading florists. After graduating from Cornell University with a degree in design, she worked for several major retail and event florists in the Chicago area. When she and her husband Mike decided to move to New England, they fell in love with the historic town of Exeter; Jessica opened cymbidium floral there in April 2005. Known for her striking color combinations & love of texture, Jessica’s signature arrangements have a distinctive quality that make them uniquely beautiful. The boutique’s overwhelming success has allowed Jessica to expand the cymbidium family to include floral designers Theresa and Stacey. Perhaps most important is the addition of Jessica’s son Cooper and daughter Ella as honorary “shop managers” and the promotion of Jessica’s mom, Marjory, from her original position as shop helper extraordinaire, to CSO (Cooper and Ella’s Supervising Officer).

When not in the shop, Jessica can be found running after Cooper and Ella, spending time with family, sewing something crafty, planning & organizing, all the while drinking coffee and enjoying something sweet.

theresa frampton — floral designer

Theresa Frampton Theresa has been in the floral industry since 1985, and can figure out a solution to just about any floral dilemma. Working alongside Jessica since 2005, Theresa’s love for her job can be seen in countless creations, including, but not limited to, the perfect wrist corsage (too many to count), beautiful bridal bouquets and everyday arrangements. Theresa’s creative spirit doesn’t end with flowers; her other ventures include painting & jewelry design. Your favorite earrings, purchased in our shop? Most likely Theresa’s designs. She also keeps her co-workers fueled with mouthwatering sandwiches at lunchtime that are just as “pretty” as they are tasty. Away from the shop, you might find her coaching or on the sidelines supporting one of her four daughters’ sports teams, or biking with her husband (after having made us lunch and delivered your flowers)! She’s our hero.

stacey grady — floral designer

Stacey Smith Stacey believes in serendipity, with a side of perseverance. She also believes in the beauty of every bloom. An artist at heart, with a logical mind, she often has to pinch herself to make sure this job, and everything it has brought into her life, isn’t a dream. With a degree in Interior Design from Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts, Stacey spent several years designing interiors, from assisted living communities to baby nurseries and just about everything in between. When faced with a career crossroads in 2007 she asked, “If I could do anything, what would I do?” That’s when she happened upon cymbidium floral and it’s safe to say, the rest is history (if you stop in with chocolate, or anything sweet for that matter, she’s likely to tell you all the details). Hired in 2009, Stacey has embraced cymbidium’s low & lush style working side by side with proprietor Jessica and co-designer Theresa. Her eye for color and love of all things beautiful allows for thoughtful & expressive floral designs. When not in the shop she can be found basking in sunshine, surrounded by art supplies or mesmerized by Pinterest. Stacey relishes the idea that her job is essentially to make people smile. Dreams really do come true…
